Nikoniko participated in a fun festival this year, the Powell Festival of Japanese descent. We were also very much looking forward to this festival, and many people stopped by our booth again this year to hear about their parents’ caregiving and concerns about their future life as they age.
One thing that we found different from before COVID was that many people were interested in caring for elders. In the past, people who had stayed away from our booth and said, “Care has nothing to do with me,” would be willing to come to ask questions. So we strongly sensed that much so that in-home care and other services were gradually accepted by the community.
We introduced many people to our brain exercises, brain training drills packed with many essences of our brain training, research on soft and easy-to-chew diet, and Group Home, scheduled to open at the end of this year.
We were glad that everyone was very interested in our services. Since it is an event in the summer heat, we distribute fans to older adults complimentary every year. This year, in addition to the elderly, we distributed fans to volunteers who worked the day. We always loved this Powell festival, where good energy was born while supporting each other in the community. Thank you for allowing Nikonoiko to be a part of the team every year. Finally, we would like to thank the organizers who put everything together to go!
